When the cracks begin to appear, and Nathan’s struggles with his attraction towards a transgender woman surface, Rachel chooses to end the affair, leading to disastrous consequences.

Dealing with issues of violence towards the trans female community as well as homophobia and transphobia within society (with a particular focus on the black community), Almost Saw the Sunshine draws on Munroe’s personal experiences. A hard-hitting, no holds barred drama, Almost Saw the Sunshine is filled with aspiration, hope and heartbreak.

The 30-minute film is accompanied by a 15-minute behind the scenes documentary.
