Meet Francesc Gascó: the ‘dinosaur kid’ and CrossFit athlete raising pulses

Lee Faircloth

Today is self-confessed ‘dinosaur kid’ and CrossFit athlete Francesc Gascó’s birthday.

What better way for us all to celebrate than a look at some of his hottest online posts to-date.

Alongside being an athlete, Francesc works deep in the world of science, with a PhD in palaeontology. He’s even been on the pages of Men’s Health Spain, too!

He’s not afraid to strike a pose in front of that camera lens just for you…

Francesc appeared in the January issue of GT, explaining how he doesn’t quite fit into the scientist stereotype.

“Those I meet in training are normally shocked to hear that I’m a scientist.

“They’re surprised I have a PHD and that I work with dinosaurs; something of which I continue to research even now.

“And then there’s the other side if people thinking and saying I shouldn’t like sports having come from a scientific background. Why is that? Why can’t the stereotype of someone being intelligent, into dinosaurs and this level of fitness exist on a slightly more regular basis?

“We are not a stereotype, really; no one is – and I just happen to like to train and understand dinosaurs.”
