This year, Gay Times embarks on a number of global partnerships to amplify and celebrate comprehensive representation of the LGBT+ community across our platforms. First up, NYC Pride 2017 – an annual event that commemorates the Stonewall Riots of 1969, the genesis of the modern Gay Rights movement.

For over 40 years, GBT men around the world have turned to Gay Times as a trusted friend and confidant – an essential resource for understanding and navigating the world around us. At times when loving freely and openly were illegal, we have proudly campaigned for equal rights, worked closely with other organisations to drive change and used Gay Times to amplify messages of acceptance and love. Now, we’re partnering with celebrations like NYC Pride 2017 to further amplify those messages.

We are thrilled to announce our support of NYC Pride 2017, which in turn commemorates the Stonewall Riots of 1969. We’ll be standing side-by-side with a community that was borne of a civil unrest, of a generation who refused to accept anything less than equality in their pursuit of happiness. It means a great deal to us that we’re able to walk hand-in-hand with our LGBT+ brothers and sisters across the pond as we celebrate the ideals of freedom, love and happiness.

The editor of Gay Times, Darren Scott, says: “A notable portion of our audience is in the US and as we seek to bolster the representation of the global LGBT+ community across our platforms, we’re thrilled to  work alongside NYC Pride 2017 in spreading empowering messages of acceptance and inclusion globally.”

Chris Frederick, Managing Director of Heritage of Pride Ltd., which organises NYC Pride 2017, says: “This year, we’re extending our media partnerships to reflect the global LGBT+ audience that attends NYC Pride each year. We are proud to partner with Gay Times to broaden NYC Pride 2017’s message and strengthen our ties with our allies throughout the world.”

As well as giving our global community round the clock social media coverage of NYC Pride 2017 as it unfolds,  you’ll also see the Gay Times Pride Team on the ground at events across the city. Look out for us at:

OutCinema: a celebration of LGBT+ pride and community on film, featuring a specially curated screening of Cherry Pop (with RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen) followed by an open bar after-party.

Family Movie Night: an evening of family-friendly flicks, appropriate for all ages, while lounging under the stars on Hudson River Park’s Pier 45.
